    Budapest is considered by many to be one of the world’s most beautiful cities,is known as the “Paris of the Orient” and “Queen of the Danube.”

    Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the Danube, with the merger of 17 November 1873 on the right bank (west) Buda (Ofen in German) and Obuda (Old Buda or Alt-Ofen), with pest the left (east) bank.
