I traveled a lot and almost all 48 lower states. Twenty years ago, my husband and I, while living in Seattle, chose to vacation in Myrtle Beach. Four months later we moved to Myrtle Beach and enjoy its benefits every year since.
I’ll give you my first six reasons why Myrtle Beach is a good choice for your next family vacation.

1) The climate is mild throughout the year, especially when compared to Florida, where I found the heat very oppressive humidity in summer. There are 215 days of sunshine a year, and the global mean annual temperature is about 70 degrees, according to statistics available from the Weather Channel.
2) No swarms of sand flies in South Carolina. Do not laugh – until you have lived or rental south enough to be a reality, not seen what I mean.
3) It is very easy to find discounts on lodging packages and golf in Myrtle Beach, particularly from September to April, when the weather is even more dramatic in recent months.
4) Myrtle Beach is a golfer’s paradise with over 100 elective courses, some designed by famous designers and golf professionals. The first vacation we had in Myrtle Beach in 1989 was for my husband at the time of an invitation from tournament golf. He had played golf for over 25 years and said he was excited would be an understatement. Any golfer, regardless of skill level, are the courses that will challenge and provide a fun day on the links.
